Below you’ll find a collection of my favourite family meals to support gut health and immunity. These are recipes we return to in times of illness, as well as in everyday life. They are gently nourishing, strengthening, and supporting the body over time.

Chinese Five Spice Chicken Noodle Soup
Homemade Gut-Healing Bone Broth
This soup brings together traditional Eastern and Western approaches to healing. It is designed to gently support the body during illness by offering warmth, hydration, and easily absorbed nourishment, while also supporting digestion and recovery. Rich in aromatic, warming spices, collagen, and minerals, it provides deep, restorative support when it’s needed most. It can be easily frozen for use later. The recipe serves approximately 4 (with a little extra), and quantities are very forgiving so feel free to adjust and measure with your heart.

Simple to prepare and cost-effective, your local butcher will have everything you need to get started. It can be made in large batches and stored or frozen for later use, making it a practical staple to have on hand when it’s needed most.

Made with red lentils, warming spices, and vegetables, it provides plant-based protein, fibre, and a wide range of vitamins and minerals to support digestion, energy, and overall resilience. The combination of ginger, garlic, and spices helps to gently warm the body and support circulation, while the lentils offer steady, easily digested nourishment. It’s easy to prepare, budget-friendly, and can be made in large batches to have on hand when needed. The ingredients are flexible and can be adjusted based on what you have available, making it a practical staple for everyday meals as well as times when extra support is needed.
