Postpartum Healing
Pregnancy and birth have great demands on the female body, which means the fourth trimester is a time to heal. It’s a time to nourish the body with the best nutrition and emotional support to ensure mum and bub have the healthiest and happiest start to their next chapter. However, it is not up to the mother to take on this responsibility, but sadly in the Western culture it is more often the case. Our ‘village’ needs to include practitioners and healers who can hold the mother during this time, while mum holds her new babe.
And postpartum doesn’t just end after 6-8 weeks. It’s really the beginning of a new health journey from there on. It’s about managing the new shifts of our hormones, nervous system, nutrient expenditure and replenishment, and more throughout the whole body. Mum’s and caregivers are welcome at anytime during their parenthood to discuss reconnection and healing of their body and mind.
We don’t talk about postpartum healing enough, and it needs to be at the forefront of women’s health for short and long term health. Whether you are purchasing this for yourself, or as a gift, by doing so you are contributing to a future of supporting females and the journey that is motherhood.

Planning for your Postpartum
Postpartum health planning should be prioritised. Healing and replenishing from pregnancy, birth, and making sure we are receiving the nutritional requirements needed in postpartum, are essential to women’s health, milk supply, and for long-term wellbeing.
We will go through key points that are often missed when it comes to preparing for your postpartum, covering the aspects that society doesn’t usually prepare you for such as healing itself, breast feeding, nutritional demands, what happens after birth and hormonal education. We will talk about foods that you can start to prepare which contain key ingredients, used medicinally in Traditional Chinese Medicine, to ensure you replenish nutrients and blood essential for healing and health.
We can also go through blood test results to assess what nutrients we need to focus on to avoid depletion, or that we may need to replenish if already deficient.
Please book a ‘Preparing for your Postpartum’ appointment to access this.
Post Partum Nutritional Support
Nutrition doesn’t have to be complex - it actually should be easy. And we require easy foods in postpartum! Food as medicine should be easy, tasty and enjoyable to prepare and eat. It’s not about taking out foods, it’s about what we can add in to enhance nutritional value and healing.
Traditional Chinese Dietetics (food medicine) has been used for thousands of years to heal post pregnancy and birth, and there is a reason for that.
To discuss postpartum nutrition, please book a ‘Preparing for your Postpartum’ appointment.
If you would like to include nutrition in your overall health appointment (not just specifically postpartum), please book an ‘Adult Initial Naturopath Appointment’.
Herbal Medicine Support
Herbs have been used for thousands of years to assist a wide range of health imbalances, including postpartum healing. There are many safe ways we can use herbs for new mother’s (and dad’s!) And if necessary, we can also use herbs and supplements for babies and children, and for the whole family!
If you would like to explore how herbs, along with foods, can aid your postpartum healing, please book a ‘Preparing for your Postpartum’ appointment.
Sauna Sessions
After 6 weeks postpartum, your body could do with some love and deep warmth. The humidity from the traditional Finnish sauna has intense healing properties, stimulating blood flow to areas that need healing and helping the flow of blood and breast milk. Above all, it gives you a moment of stillness, and a minute to yourself.
From $40 for a 45 minute session
